To help Nillumbik residents address land degradation and protect and enhance biodiversity, Council offers a Land Management Incentive Program. The Program has recently been reviewed and revised following a period of public consultation in early 2011.
The new Land Management Incentive Program for 2011-2012 offers flexible grants to support a range of integrated land management activities for private landowners. Projects relating to land within the Green Wedge and Rural Conservation Zone or areas in or adjoining land with an Environmental Significance Overlay will be given priority over others.
Council has developed guidelines which contain the specific details for eligibility of projects for their assessment and funding through the LMIP.
