Community Environmental Recovery Action Plans

The Natural Environment Recovery Working Group has received funding to develop Community Environmental Recovery Action Plans for Strathewen, St Andrews and Christmas Hills.

The Community Environmental Recovery Action Plans will be developed in partnership with the community, and will provide clear direction for local environmental assets, land management and fire recovery programs.

This project will take into account local environmental assets, land uses and bushfire safety, and will improve community access to practical information on land use and environmental management.

What has happened so far?

In mid 2010, consultants from Enplan Partners were engaged to develop the plans. The following activities have occurred to date:

Community introduction evenings were held in Strathewen, Christmas Hills, and St Andrews and gave local residents a chance to meet the consultants and learn about the project.

Consultants have undertaken a review of legislation, policies, local plans and strategies that are relevant to local land management practices.

A Draft is available on the right.
