Hurstbridge Wattle Festival

The Hurstbridge Wattle Festival is a significant cultural event for Melbournians that has its roots firmly planted in our early rail history. It’s a joyous celebration of our heritage, environment and community.
Festival goers view the wattles in a blaze of glory along the Diamond Creek as they approach the township of Hurstbridge. As visitors stroll the main street and the various Festival precincts, they enjoy a fabulous and extensive array of entertainment, events and activities for all the family, many of them free.

The tour starts at Montsalvat, 7 Hillcrest Crescent, Eltham
Join us in celebrating our architectural heritage. Nillumbik Shire is unique in its mudbrick architecture that has accumulated over more than half a century of experimentation, design and construction.
Local architects today estimate that there are over 1,300 mudbrick houses within the shire. The tour invites you to discover our local architectural heritage with homes open for one day only.
Cost: Adult: $25, Concession (Seniors/Students/Health card holders): $20 and children under 16 are free.
On the Hill Festival

The On the Hill Festival is a day of free activities, nature, culture, music and fabulous food for the whole family.
Made On the Hill is a celebration and exhibition of craft, baking, local garden produce, preserves, floral art and writing. This year's theme is Things That Fly. Entry details are on the Living and Learning website. Entries close 10 October.
