International Day of People with Disability Grants
About the grant
The International Day of People with Disability Grants (IDPwD) are designed to support community groups, schools and not-for-profit organisations to highlight an existing or new community activity, project or event to celebrate IDPwD 2018.
IDPwD is a United Nations sanctioned day held on December 3 each year. The day seeks to highlight the contributions people with disability make across the community in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
Council is working in partnership with the Victorian State Government Community Building program, and our Inclusion Advisory Committee to provide a number of grants of up to $1,000 to get community celebrations underway.
Up to $1000 from a total pool of $5000
Grants must not used to fund wages or in-kind hours
Any remaining funds cannot be rolled over
Grant applications open Monday 1 October 2018
Grant applications close Sunday 14 October 2018
Projects must be undertaken in November or December 2018.
- Be within a reasonable price range from free, to a maximum of $10 per person.
- Demonstrate inclusive, creative and innovative activities which broaden community awareness and participation.
- Showcase the skills, abilities, contributions and achievements of people with a disability.
- Engage people with a disability to celebrate and raise awareness of IDPwD.
- The event must take place in November or December 2018.
Must be an incorporated not for profit group or organisation, school, or an individual who represents a community group, organisation or school that delivers projects and activities within the Shire of Nillumbik.
Unincorporated groups which are auspiced by an incorporated body.
Must hold a current certificate of currency and have a minimum $10 million for Public Liability insurance.

print a copy of the form, complete it and deliver it to the Civic Centre, Civic Drive, Greensborough

If you hand deliver or mail the form you must provide copies of
- Public Liability Insurance Certificate
- Certificate of Currency
- Quotes for any services or products required for the project
The expression of interest must meet the eligibility criteria and where appropriate, contain supporting documentation or visuals of concepts or previous event flyers. A panel including Councillor Jane Ashton and members of the Inclusion Advisory Committee will review the Expressions of Interest based on the eligibility criteria. You may also be contacted for further information and to discuss the project.
The decision of the Inclusion Advisory Committee will be final.
Applications open Monday 1 October and close 5pm Sunday 14 October 2018
All applicants will be notified via phone and email of the outcome of their application on Friday 26 October 2018
See the IDPwD website for event ideas and promotional products which are available. Successful applicants are required to promote their event using at least two of the options from the IDPwD website.
