Medical transport

This service is not for emergencies. For emergency medical assistance, call 000.

Non-emergency medical transport is available to eligible Nillumbik residents.

This is an affordable door-to-door transport service for residents who are unable to get to medical appointments because they cannot drive and have limited access to other transport options.

This service is for people who live independently but who have limited mobility, including older people and people with a disability or significant injury.

Passengers must be independently mobile and able to get in and out of a vehicle without assistance.

Priority is given to residents who cannot:

  • drive themselves
  • arrange transport with family and friends
  • access non-emergency patient transport from treating medical facility
  • access taxis or other transport options

Where it goes

Medical transport can provide transport to:

  • general medical appointments
  • hospital appointments
  • medical tests
  • dental appointments
  • allied health appointments (including physiotherapy, podiatry, occupational therapy)
  • dental appointments

The medical transport service is made possible by the generous contribution of our team of volunteer drivers. If you would like to find out more about becoming a volunteer driver, we would like to hear from you.

See the Volunteer Opportunities page for more ways to volunteer in Nillumbik.
