After collection, equipment is disassembled and plastic, precious metals, batteries, cathode ray tubes, printed circuit boards and insulated wiring are sent for use around Australia and the world.

Recycling separates the lamps components. The mercury is distilled and reused safely and the aluminium and glass are recycled into products such as glass wool.
