Hard waste collection dates have been finalised for 2011. Please check back at a later date for collection details in 2012.

Each resident will receive a collection brochure approximately two weekends prior to their collection outlining when to have materials ready for collection.

  1. Materials must not be placed out for collection any earlier than TEN DAYS prior to your collection date.
  2. All materials need to be placed out neatly in two piles, one for metal and one for other items, ready for collection on the nature strip BEFORE 6am on the date shown on your brochure.
  3. There is a limit of two cubic metres (1m wide x 1m high x 2m long) of hard waste per household that can be placed out for collection.
  4. There are a number of items that will not be collected. These can be found in Council's Hardwaste Collection brochure.  

What you can’t put out for collection

  •  No over length or overweight items of any nature
  •  No waste from commercial and industrial premises
  •  No building waste
  •  No renovation material
  •  No fence panels
  •  No bricks, concrete, stone, clay, sand or soil
  •  No liquids including paint, oil, garden sprays and chemicals
  •  No hazardous waste including asbestos (please refer to the EPA – 9695 2722)
  •  No household garbage
  •  No green waste
  •  No TYRES or BATTERIES of any type
  •  No gas bottles

 

What you can put out for collection

  • E-waste materials including: televisions, desktop computers, laptop computers and peripherals (printers, keyboards, computer mice, monitors)
  • Old tins, scrap iron and other waste metal
  • Empty and clean paint tins (lids off)
  • Crockery and chinaware
  • Household furniture such as couches and beds
  • Mattresses and mattress bases (limit two per household, ie, you can have one mattress and one mattress base or two mattresses without bases)
  • Carpet (rolled and tied - limit one roll)
  • Household appliances such as stoves, washing machines and dishwashers
  • Refrigerators (doors removed)
  • Electrical appliances, tools, mowers and small car parts
  • Sheets of glass, wrapped in paper, taped and clearly marked GLASS
  • Up to 10 pieces of timber, less than 1.5 metres in length (nails bent or removed)

 

Hard waste can be disposed of all year round at the Recycling and Recovery Centre. Charges apply.
