  • Batteries - household, car and mobile phone
  • Cardboard, excluding waxed cardboard
  • Clothing in good condition
  • E-waste e.g. computers, printers, keyboards, screens, hard drives, mouses
  • Household recycling e.g. hard plastics, cardboard/paper, glass bottles/jars, cans, steel pots and pans, plastic toys
  • Light globes/bulbs and fluoro tubes
  • Mobile phones
  • Motor oil and containers
  • Scrap metal (charges apply for fridges, freezers and air conditioners)
  • Televisions

Reuse Shop at the Recycling & Recovery Centre

Where possible, items unable to be recycled that are in good condition are donated to the on-site Reuse Shop rather than sent to landfill. The Reuse Shop is run by the Green Wedge Christian Community.

OPEN: 9am-3.30pm Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday
CLOSED: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and public holidays 

Free green waste drop off days for Nillumbik residents

On Sunday 29 November 2015 and Sunday 7 February 2016 only, drop off garden materials free of charge from 8am–4pm at our Recycling & Recovery Centre.

We accept prunings, garden clippings, leaves and grass (as many trailer loads as you like). We do not accept commercial loads or food waste. Free drop off is for Nillumbik residents only – remember to bring your rates notice or driver licence to show you live in the shire.

  • building/renovation rubble such as concrete, stone and tiles
