Adventure Playground update
Published on 18 December 2017
In the early hours of Saturday 16 December 2017, the Eltham North Reserve playground was destroyed by fire. This is devastating to so many families with young children who use the popular playground. Incidents like this have a significant impact not only on our young citizens, but on all people who enjoy our outdoor spaces.
The playground was built in 1995 through community involvement, including working bees and publically raised and council funding. The playground was insured and we are currently working with our insurers to assess the level of coverage. We are committed to rebuilding the Adventure playground as quickly as possible and in partnership with the community. There have been generous offers of financial and in-kind assistance from residents and others throughout the state. We are looking at ways to rally together to rebuild this wonderful space for the community to enjoy. We will regularly update our website and social media with information and look forward to working with you.
