Rebuilding the popular Eltham North Adventure Playground has taken a major step forward with Council appointing an expert team to design and build the new playground.

Nillumbik Mayor Peter Clarke today announced that Victorian-based Naturform were the successful tenderers to rebuild the playground.

Naturform has more than 35 years’ experience in playground construction.

Cr Clarke described the decision as great news for the community, with design work set to start immediately based on community feedback collected by Council.

“Residents involved in helping construct the original playground in 1995, will be especially pleased to hear that Naturform will team up with the original designers of the much-loved playground – Gardiner Architects and Jeavons Landscape Architects,” Cr Clarke said.

“Together the companies have designed some of Victoria’s most popular adventure playgrounds including Hays Paddock in Kew East and Bollygum Adventure Playground in Kinglake.

“Council has consulted widely with residents – especially our youngest playground users who used pencils and crayons to tell us what they thought.

“We have also collected and shared hundreds of ideas and recollections from young and old through our dedicated community engagement portal.”

Cr Clarke said the information already collected would help fast track the design of the new playground, which is expected to be completed ahead of Christmas.

The community will have an opportunity to provide its feedback on the concept plans once they are prepared.

These will be made available via Council’s Eltham North Adventure Playground portal
