International Day of People with a Disability (IDPwD)

IDPwD is a United Nations sanctioned day that aims to promote an understanding of people with a disability and encourage support for their dignity, rights and wellbeing. IDPwD also seeks to increase awareness of the benefits of the integration of people with disability in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.

This year Nillumbik Shire Council's Access for All Abilities program, in partnership with Banyule City Council, YMCA Victoria, Belgravia Leisure, Leisure Management Services, Hurstbridge Tennis Club, NANDM tennis coaching and Yarra Plenty Regional Library Service, have put together a week long program of activities from Monday 30 November to Sunday 6 December, 2009. All activities are free for everyone to enjoy!
