Melbourne 2030

In October 2002 the State Government released Melbourne 2030, its strategy for the future development of Melbourne over the next 30 years.

Council made a detailed submission on the many aspects of Melbourne 2030 affecting the Nillumbik community which can be viewed by clicking here.

Proposed Rural Zones

In November 2003, as part of the State Government's program of implementing the objectives of Melbourne 2030, the Minister for Planning advised Councils of proposed changes to planning provisions for Melbourne’s Green Wedges.

Council was invited to advise the Department of Sustainability and Environment of any unintended or unreasonable consequences of a direct translation of the existing zones into the new rural zones.

Council’s submission on the proposed changes to the rural zones can be viewed by clicking on the links below.
