The Nillumbik Shire trails network provides a great opportunity for walkers, cyclists, horse riders and skaters to enjoy the Shire's natural and cultural heritage.

Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to enjoy the 25 kilometers of urban trails, 6 kilometers of rural trails and many informal trails that run throughout Shire of Nillumbik.

Urban trails link to the Melbourne Metropolitan Trail Network and include the Diamond Creek Trail, the Plenty River Trail and the Aqueduct Trail.

Other trails of interest may include the Heidelberg Artists Trail, Heritage Walks and the Gawa Wurundjeri Aboriginal Resource Trail.

Our trail network connects the natural environment and townships, providing opportunities for active recreation and socialising in environments where safely, accessibility and quality have been assessed.
