We asked our returning and new Councillors some questions based on their concerns and interests, so you can get to know them.

Q. Why did you nominate for Council?

I have been a Councillor for one term (2004-2008) and was enthusiastic to continue representing the residents.

Q. What is your working/life background?

Legal secretary, Diploma of Community Development and Bachelor of Social Science majoring in Local Government. I have worked as a Community Development worker and full-time mother.

Q. What are your main interests outside Council?

Spending time with family and friends, walking our wonderful Nillumbik trails, current affairs and politics.

Q. What do you believe are the biggest issues facing Nillumbik in the next four years?

* financial sustainability

* Green Wedge and environmental protection

* community services enhancement

* sourcing Victorian and Federal government funding

Q. It’s Sunday – family or friends drop over – where would you take them? (e.g. Eltham

Miniature Railway, brunch at one of our great cafes, wine tasting or meal at a small winery, cycling along the Diamond Creek)

I would start on the deck at home which overlooks our great tree canopy, perhaps wander up to Montsalvat and take in a meal at one of our wonderful restaurants or cafés.

Q.  What’s the best time, day or method for residents and community groups to contact you?

Preferably during working hours – but not always – on mobile, landline or via email.
