We asked our returning and new Councillors some questions based on their concerns and interests, so you can get to know them.

Q. Why did you nominate for Council?

As a long term Nillumbik resident (30 years) and involved in numerous community associations and activities, I felt it was timely to offer my candidacy for Sugarloaf Ward.

Q.What is your working/life background?

I’m an electronic engineer involved in the computer industry for 25 years. Roles include audio design, computer system installation, computer room design, sales and marketing, senior management.

Q. What are your main interests outside Council?

Wine-making, family, bush walking and historic motor sport.

Q. What do you believe are the biggest issues facing Nillumbik in the next four years?

* The Green Wedge management

* transport management

* sustainable communities

* public transport

Q. It’s Sunday – family or friends drop over – where would you take them? (e.g. Eltham Miniature Railway, brunch at one of our great cafes, wine tasting or meal at a small winery, cycling along the Diamond Creek)

A choice between a visit to Kangaroo Ground Memorial Tower, a tour of the local wineries or coffee and cake at a local café/restaurant.

Q. What’s the best time, day or method for residents and community groups to contact you?

During the day at the Kangaroo Ground Post Office.
