Annual Leave and Purchased Annual Leave
All full-time and part-time employees receive four (4) weeks annual leave each year. The purchased leave (48/52) model of employment allows for an employee to purchase up to an additional four (4) weeks annual leave per year. The employee is paid for 52 weeks per year at the fractional rate of 48/52 (or 49/52, 50/52 or 51/52) of their annual salary. All conditions are outlined in Council policy and Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
All full-time employees receive 17 days sick/family leave (pro-rata for part-time employees) per annum (cumulative)
Employees with seven (7) years of service will be entitled to access their accrued long service leave entitlements.

Paid Maternity/Adoption Leave
In accordance with Council’s Enterprise Agreement No. 6, permanent employees with more than one year’s continuous service will be entitled to thirteen (13) weeks paid maternity/adoption leave effective from January 2011.
In accordance with Council’s Enterprise Agreement No. 6, permanent employees with more than one year’s continuous service will be entitled to two (2) week’s paid partner leave.
Staff professional development
Council provides a range of learning and development opportunities including a corporate training program and e-learning. In accordance with Council policy staff may apply for study assistance in the form of study leave or fee assistance.

Induction process
