The next Nillumbik Shire Council general election will be held Saturday 24 October 2020.
As legislated, Council will enter a Caretaker Period (Election Period) commencing at midnight on Tuesday 22 September 2020 and concluding at 6:00pm on Saturday 24 October 2020.
Council’s Election Period Policy was developed to ensure that general elections for Council are conducted in a manner that is ethical, fair and equitable, and are publicly perceived as such. The revised policy was adopted by Council at the Ordinary Council Meeting on 30 July 2019.
Nillumbik Shire is divided into seven wards, each represented by one democratically elected Councillor. In 2019 the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) conducted an Electoral Representation Review where the existing seven ward structure was retained with a slight boundary adjustment between two wards. More information regarding the Review including the final report can be viewed on Council’s website.

These sessions are free of charge and open to all community members.
