The school holidays are here and, despite the COVID-19 restrictions, there are plenty of ways to keep the kids entertained.

Yarra Plenty Regional Library Service

The Yarra Plenty Regional Library Service is offering free fun activity packs that can be ordered through the Click & Collect service or downloaded online.

The packs contain instructions for 10 different activities, one for each weekday of the holidays.

To go with each activity, a short instructional video will be streamed on the YPRL Facebook page at 2pm each weekday.

Find out more at the library's website.

The library will open to visitors on Tuesday 30 June with health and safety restrictions in place. These include a limit of 20 people per library space, visits limited to one hour and one-hour limits on computers.

School holiday programs

The Eltham Leisure Centre will be offering a two-week school holiday program through Team Kids from Monday 29 June to Friday 10 July.

The Diamond Valley Sports and Fitness Centre, and the Community Bank Stadium Diamond Creek will offer a one-week school holiday program through Team Kids from Monday 6 July to Friday 10 July.

Parks and reserves

All of Nillumbik’s playgrounds, skate parks and outdoor gyms are now open, although we encourage users to maintain social distancing and hygiene measures.

Edendale Community Environment Farm

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, Edendale Community Environment Farm remains closed to visitors until further notice.

Nillumbik Shire Council’s priority is the health and safety of the community and our staff. We are monitoring the situation closely and following the advice of authorities.

We are working to ensure that any facility re-opening – once allowed through easing of Victorian Government restrictions – is accompanied by the necessary measures that would best ensure the health and safety of facility users and staff.

We will keep the community updated on any developments.
