Applying for a position
It is important to understand the requirements of the position and how we in local government undertake recruitment and selection.
You must have the legal right to work in Australia in order to be considered for our vacancies.
To set your application up for success, you may find the Applying for a job at Council guide(DOCX, 93KB) helpful when preparing your application for a job at Council.
We receive a large number of applications which are assessed based on who best meets the selection criteria, and there may be times where candidates do meet the criteria however are not invited for an interview as there were others with a better fit for the position.
Please note that the recruitment and selection process can take several weeks. You will be contacted if you are successful in gaining an interview. If you have not been contacted within four weeks of the application closing date, you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.
Unsolicited applications for employment will not be considered or retained by Nillumbik Shire Council.
Council’s work experience program provides students with an understanding of local government and exposure to a formal work environment. Find out more from our Work Experience Page.
