Have your say about tourism in Nillumbik

Council is an active partner of Yarra Ranges Tourism, our Regional Tourism Board. Through this partnership residents are invited to participate in a short online survey about tourism in Nillumbik and more broadly the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges Region which includes Nillumbik.
Yarra Ranges Tourism is embarking on an important project to create a Destination Management Plan - a 10 year strategic masterplan to support all aspects of managing the visitor economy.
Nillumbik Mayor Ben Ramcharan said, “Your opinion is very important, and we hope this plan will help provide a roadmap for a sustainable tourism industry for Nillumbik into the future.” He said ‘Tourism provides jobs and economic injection into the local community making quality contributions to the place where people live, work and play.’
This work will culminate in a comprehensive Destination Management Plan supported by four Local Area Plans one of which will be specific to Nillumbik, plus an integrated Workforce Development Plan.
The Plan will lay the foundations for sustainable destination growth, prosperity and development for the region. It will aim to balance economic priorities with the social, environmental, and cultural fabric of the region. The Plan will be key to identifying how we can further strengthen the visitor economy in Nillumbik and more broadly the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges, and continue to be a leading tourism destination for Victoria.
The survey may take between 5 and 10 minutes to complete, depending on your responses.
