Nillumbik Horse Action Group invite you to this information saession with Stephanie Orive from Holistic Equine Grazing. The talk will cover:

  • How to grow more horse safe grass
  • Preventing laminitis and other pasture-related metabolic diseases, using animal management to control weeds (no herbicides!)
  • Reducing worm and parasite burden
  • Reducing feed and supplement costs
  • Reducing farm labour such as slashing, weeding and manure management
  • Mud, dust and erosion control

About the Presenter

 

Stephanie Orive, of Holistic Equine Grazing specialises in grazing management for horses and beef cattle. As a horse owner herself, Stephanie understands the unique constraints of managing healthy horses on healthy pasture, compared to other livestock. She is passionate about enhancing knowledge within the equestrian community around pasture management, for positive animal and ecological outcomes. As the chair of STIPA Native Grasses Association, a not-for-profit farmer-led charity, Stephanie advocates for native grasslands within regenerative agricultural practices.
