Managing deer with your neighbours webinar

Will working with my neighbours increase my successes in controlling deer?

This online webinar with Q&A will provide a forum to hear (and talk) about working with your neighbours to control rising deer numbers in rural and peri-urban environments.

Our panel members - Artur Muchow (Middle Yarra Landcare Network), Mike Hall (Cardinia Deer Management Coalition), Tracey Wood (Jumping Creek Landcare) and Isabella Amouzandeh (Strathewen landholder - Sugarloaf Produce) - have all successfully engaged their local community to allow deer control to be facilitated across larger areas.

How did their programs come to be? What makes their approach unique? What works well, and what doesn't? How are their deer control works funded or are they free? Do they recommend forming groups to coordinate works? Would these need to be insured?

How does it all work and can you do this too?

We will also have Council’s Community Development Officers on hand to answer any questions about setting up community groups.

We would love to hear some of your stories on the night, and there will be a Q&A section to ask questions. We invite you to email in any photos, maps and/or real-life situations you have from your local property by 8 April, which you would be happy for us to share or discuss during the session as special case studies. And if you have a burning question that you’d like answered on the night regarding deer control, email these through too. Our email is

Please subscribe to Nillumbik Shire Council’s Community Deer Mailing List if you'd like to receive invitations to other deer-related events.

Please note - This webinar will be recorded.
