Environmental groups in Nillumbik
There are a number of environmental groups that operate within the Nillumbik Shire. A list of these is outlined below.
Local Food Connect
Local Food Connect (LFC) is a not-for-profit, volunteer community group which is working towards re-localising food production and supply systems.
Based in the north-eastern region of Melbourne, they encourage, support and promote events, actions and enterprises to put your food back into your control.

Warrandyte CAN (Climate Action Now)
Warrandyte CAN communicates the urgent need to take action on climate change, raise awareness and empower people to act to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Yarra Riverkeeper Association
The Yarra Riverkeeper Association is a not-for-profit community organisation formed in 2004 by a group of citizens who love the Yarra River and care for its future. Its aim is to protect and restore the Yarra River and its tributaries, from source to mouth, for current and future generations.

Victorian Frog Group
The Victorian Frog Group aims to provide for the needs of all those interested in Australian native frogs. They aim to facilitate education and conservation through encouraging a close contact with nature. They have a diverse membership with people including those with a general interest in frogs, gardeners, naturalists, teachers, pet owners, zookeepers, zoologists, research scientists and university academics.
The group offers a unique opportunity for you to meet people with similar interests, get to know more about frogs and get involved in the many exciting activities that are coordinated by the group. Whatever your interest in frogs, you'll find it at the Victorian Frog Group.

Clean Energy Nillumbik
Clean Energy Nillumbik (CEN) is a volunteer-led community group committed to accelerating the transition to renewables in the green wedge shire. CEN started in 2017 with a strategy to have 100 per cent of Nillumbik’s buildings powered by renewable energy by 2028.
