Explore Nillumbik's Ecological Vegetation Classes (EVCs) with Council's Biodiversity Officer

Join us for an enlightening afternoon walk led by Council's Biodiversity Officer, as we delve into the EVCs of Nillumbik. This unique opportunity will take place at the picturesque St Andrews Market site, from where we'll embark on a journey through the Proctor St Reserve.

Meeting point: St Andrews Market site

During the walk, we will traverse through Proctor St Reserve, pausing along the way to observe wildflowers and fauna habitats. Gain insights into the diverse vegetation types that define Nillumbik and discover strategies for managing each to enhance biodiversity. Participants will also learn to identify key indigenous plants as well as common weed species within each EVC.

Please note that the walk covers approximately 500 meters one way, mainly uphill and over uneven terrain. As such, it may not be suitable for everyone.

What to bring:

• Wear appropriate clothing and footwear suitable for walking on uneven ground.
• Bring a rain jacket, hat, and sunscreen, as weather conditions can change.
