The Bridge
Telling the story of Henry Hurst’s encounter with bushranger, Robert Burke, that defines not only Allwood House, but the Hurstbridge township and reflects on the bridges between human beings that are formed in communities across the world.
The Bridge will be a roving performance, where the audience will move around to watch the story play out in different areas around Allwood House where the actual historical events took place. The performance will be held after dusk, using projected images, dramatic sound effects and lighting.
At the conclusion, the audience will be invited inside Allwood House for celebratory food, light refreshments, music and mingling. The celebrations will be a catered event involving light refreshments from local suppliers and live music entertainment provided by local musicians.
Allwood Neighbourhood House acknowledges the support of Hurstbridge Village and funding from Bendigo Bank and Nillumbik Shire Council’s Community Fund for this project.
