Councillor Peter Perkins is the Councillor for Ellis Ward for 2020-2024.

Cr Perkins was first elected 2010 and was re-elected in 2012, 2016 and 2020. He was elected Mayor 2012 and 2020.

While Cr Perkins has delivered for Diamond Creek over the past 10 years as a Councillor, he believes that there is still more to do.

Projects and improvements he would like to see in his ward include an upgraded community centre, a library, a new leisure centre incorporating a redeveloped outdoor pool, improved pedestrian connectivity and an easing of traffic congestion.

He aims to ensure that Council processes put the community at the centre of decision-making, and its changing needs must be on the top of the Council agenda.

This has never been more important than now as we all grapple with the ongoing fallout of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Cr Perkins served on the board of the Municipal Association of Victoria for two terms from 2016-2020.

He has been a long-serving volunteer member of the Diamond Creek CFA and is now a life member. He joined the MFB (now FRV) as a career firefighter in 2003.
