Events can provide a wide range of social, economic and cultural benefits to the community. Successful community events require detailed planning and consultation.
The information and guidelines provided will help you to plan a successful event, considering import aspects including accessibility, safety and permits you may require.
The Guidelines for community events(PDF, 470KB) provides you with information that we require from groups or individuals organising a community event. Temporary advertising signs for your event
Council has 13 temporary signage locations around the Shire for local community and not-for-profit groups to advertise upcoming community events. At the Future Nillumbik Committee in June 2018, Council resolved to restrict temporary signage to these 13 locations only. Permits are not able to be provided for alternative sites.
To apply for temporary signage
- Read the Policy statement(DOCX, 52KB) for site locations and compliance guidelines
- Complete the Application for the erection of temporary signs(DOC, 60KB)
Written approval is required prior to sign installation as per the Policy
