2021 Nillumbik Australia Day Virtual Awards and Citizenship Ceremony – you’re invited!!

Join us in a virtual celebration on Tuesday 26 January 2021.

Celebrate the achievements of the 2021 Nillumbik Australia Day Award recipients and welcome our newest citizens to Nillumbik.

More than ever community spirit is paramount and Reflect. Respect. Celebrate. We’re all part of the story is the message of the day.

     We Reflect on our past with messages from the Nillumbik Reconciliation Group.

     We Respect all cultures and the stories of others who call Nillumbik home.    

     We Celebrate our dedicated community with the announcement of Nillumbik Australia Day Award winners.

Attendance to the event is limited to invited guests, award winners and new citizens only.  However to ensure we all get to celebrate, we would love you to join in the celebrations by watching the live-streamed event from wherever you may be.  

The event will include: 

  • Welcome address from our Mayor, Councillor Peter Perkins
  • Flag-raising ceremony conducted by the Nillumbik Reconciliation Group
  • Guest speaker, Rima Touma, recipient of the Richard Stone Award
  • Citizenship reflection video, hearing stories from new residents and why they chose Nillumbik
  • Vocal performances from the star of the musical Jersey Boys, Bobby Fox and local band Sam + Sam
  • As well as an African cultural instrumental and dance performance.
