Due to the stage three restrictions now in place, the ceremony scheduled for Thursday 16 July has been cancelled. We understand this is disappointing and we apologise for the inconvenience caused, however we appreciate your patience during this difficult time. We will update this page as information comes to hand.
Message from the Department of Home Affairs to those invited to attend the cancelled citizenship ceremony.
We recently invited you to attend an Australian citizenship ceremony to make a pledge of commitment as the final legal step in becoming an Australian citizen.
Unfortunately, we have had to cancel this ceremony.
Your ceremony has been cancelled as part of the Australian Government’s public health measures to strengthen the control of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Australia.
Stay at home. You will save lives.
We apologise for any inconvenience. We will write to you in due course to schedule a new ceremony. You do not need to call the Department or your council.

Citizenship ceremony invitations
The Department of Home Affairs will schedule you to attend one of the upcoming citizenship ceremony usually within six months from the time your citizenship application is approved, although waiting times may vary. You will be invited to attend your ceremony about four weeks before the ceremony.
Attending a citizenship ceremony
Refer to the Department of Home Affairs website for information about attending a citizenship ceremony. You will recieve further information from Council regarding the details of the ceremony and information about the registration process.
