The Minister for Planning has approved Amendment C60 to the Nillumbik Planning Scheme. The amendment implemented the land use and built form recommendations of the Hurstbridge Township Strategy. In conjunction with the planning scheme amendment a set of Urban Design Guidelines: Heidelberg-Kinglake Road (Main Road) Precinct, Hurstbridge, March 2013 were prepared.
The Design Guidelines have been prepared to guide the future development of land within the main street setting and build upon the recommendations of Council’s Neighbourhood Character Policy, relevant studies and residential guidelines. The design guideline document can be used to assist in the design phases for all new development within the Heidelberg- Kinglake Road Precinct to ensure the preferred character of the area is realised.
