National Reconciliation Week 2019

Nillumbik Reconciliation Group in partnership with Eltham High School and Nillumbik Shire Council invite you to attend a Flag Raising Ceremony and morning tea for Reconciliation Week 2019.

The ceremony will take place on the grass in front of Council Offices and will include a Welcome to Country, guest speakers and performances by students from Eltham High School. The ceremony will be held between 10am – 10.30am followed by morning tea in rooms Manna Gum 1 and 2.

A special Reconciliation Workshop for Youth Leaders will follow the event formalities from 11am – 12pm. This workshop, led by Wurundjeri Elder Uncle Ian Hunter, will explore the meaning of Reconciliation for Aboriginal People.

An invitation has been sent to all Primary and Secondary Schools in Nillumbik to encourage schools to send student representatives with staff or parents to attend the ceremony and workshop.
