Closer to home

Nillumbik Shire Council is taking democracy to the road this year. Instead of holding all its meetings at its Greensborough head office, meetings will be held at St Andrews, Hurstbridge, Diamond Creek and Eltham at various times over the year making it easier for many to attend. Preschool open day

There’s a combined open day for all participating preschools in Nillumbik from 10am-1pm on Saturday 23 February to allow them to promote themselves and to help parents choose the right one for their child. Details:


Bard under stars

Shakespeare in the Park. As You Like It  is on at Watkins Street Reserve, Diamond Creek, on February 14, 15 and 16, with all performances from 7.30pm-9.30pm. Gates open 6.30pm. Buy tickets at the gate or in advance from 


Business marketplace

Are you a local businesswoman keen to host a stand at Nillumbik Shire Council’s Women in Business Marketplace at 6pm on Thursday 7 March? The event, part of International Women’s Day celebrations, is at Eltham Community and Reception Centre. Details



Poetry readings

Helping parents

Volunteers are needed for the In Home Family Mentoring program which provides practical and emotional support to Nillumbik parents - with children under the age of six - who are experiencing difficulties.  Details Jodie on 9433 3165
