Edendale Community Environment Farm
30 Gastons Road, Eltham
Situated on the banks of the Diamond Creek in Eltham, Edendale Community Environment Farm is Nillumbik’s premier destination for sustainability excellence and also an example of a working urban farm. Edendale demonstrates farm production to the community with animals such as sheep, dairy goats and chickens, as well as vegetable gardens and orchards of heritage fruit trees.
Since first acquiring the historic Edendale site in 1970, Council realised the potential to establish a community farm for local residents. Since 2000, Edendale has been transformed into a vibrant community environment centre which delivers a wide range of environmental and sustainability based programs. Attracting over 80,000 visitors per year from the broader Melbourne region, Edendale's mission is "to provide an interactive community and education centre to support sustainable living practices for the whole community."
