Nillumbik Shire Council recognises the important role that local government plays in promoting gender equity.

Council is committed to facilitating improved participation, leadership and access for women, girls and individuals who identify as female.

We are on the lookout for women who are passionate about their community and are willing to take the challenge of learning a range of skills so they can apply their newfound knowledge into leading and inspiring other women in our shire to connect and make a difference in their community.

The aim of the program is to develop emerging women leaders across all areas of Nillumbik community.

If this sounds like you, please complete an Expression of Interest online form below.

This program will bring women together with health, wellbeing and leadership experts to learn a range of skills in visioning, project planning, design and activation. The program is action based, so participants will apply their new skills and knowledge to real-life projects and situations with the support of peers and Council.

Core learning areas include:

  • Health and wellbeing: Creating the right conditions that will support your leadership journey
  • Define: Clarify your project's unique value and position in your community
  • Design: Learn a people-centered process for developing and testing new ideas
  • Action: Develop your unique way of leading that stems from your values

What the program will look like

The program will commence with two Health and Wellbeing workshops run over two Saturdays in partnership with healthAbility.

These workshops will focus on building the skills needed to care for your own health and wellbeing, and using these skills to support the development and overall health and wellbeing of the women in our community into the future.
