Learn simple and healthy cooking with NEST at Edendale Farm
Expressions of interest are now open for NEST, a free five-week evidence based cooking and nutrition program delivered by OzHarvest.
If you’re finding yourself suddenly in charge of the kitchen and don’t know where to start, or you’d just like some help making simple affordable meals, the five week program running from 19 November to 17 December at Edendale Community Environment Farm is designed for you.
The fun and practical course for older adults aged 55 and over, can support those people who may be learning to cook for the first time or adjusting to new routines at home due to life changes.
NEST offers not just cooking lessons, but the confidence and connection that comes from learning together in a welcoming environment.
Each week, participants will take part in a 2.5 hour session, including practical cooking lessons and group nutrition activities, before sharing the meal they’ve made together.
At the final session, everyone will receive a great take-home toolkit, a cookbook packed with easy budget-friendly recipes, and a certificate. Those who attend four or more sessions will also receive a $30 Woolworths voucher.
The program is free to attend and will be hosted by Council’s Positive Ageing team in partnership with Edendale Farm.
To register your interest or learn more, please contact Council's Positive Ageing Officer on 0437 676 617.
