  • Fruit and vegetable scraps
  • Dairy and eggs shells
  • Meat, fish and small bones

Landfill (red lid)

Our landfill bins have a red lid. They are collected fortnightly and go to landfill.

What to put in your landfill bin

  • Nappies
  • Polystyrene/foam
  • Pyrex, drinking glasses
  • Crockery and broken ceramics
  • Window glass and mirror glass
  • Soft/flexible plastics
  • Textiles/rags
  • Any non-hazardous materials that can't go in the green waste bin or recycling bin

What to leave out

Do not put in food or garden material in your landfill bin. Use your green waste bin instead.

How to put your bins out

  • Place bins out by 6.00am on collection day, half a metre apart and away from trees, power poles and cars.
  • Squeeze any air from bags of rubbish before placing in your landfill bin. This will create more space in your bin, stop waste from getting stuck and prevent a partially-emptied bin.
  • Do not over compact your bin.
  • Do not overfill; the lid must be closed.

Moving house

If you are moving house, please leave all three bins at the property for the next resident to use.

If you have built a new house on a block that was previously vacant or did not have a bin service, select the option below to 'Order bins for a newly built property'.
