Background

The Diamond Creek Dog Park is a much-loved community space for the Diamond Creek community. The upgrade aims to enhance the park’s usability, safety and accessibility, and revitalise a popular recreational space and further activate the area for all user groups.

Nillumbik Shire Council has received a $300,000 grant from the Victorian Government through the New and Upgraded Dog Parks Program.

Works

As identified through community consultation, the upgrade works include:

  • shelters
  • additional seating
  • a relocated passive dog area
  • additional bins
  • improved pathways
  • inclusion of solar lighting at entry points and shelters and
  • landscaping.

Funding details

The upgrades have been funded with $300,000 through the Victorian Government’s Open Space for Everyone - New and Upgraded Dog Parks Program.

Project updates

Works are now complete, and the upgraded dog park is open for community use. We appreciate the community’s patience during the construction period.
