Background

The Diamond Creek Dog Park is a much-loved community space for the Diamond Creek community. The upgrade aims to enhance the park’s usability, safety and accessibility, and revitalise a popular recreational space and further activate the area for all user groups.

Nillumbik Shire Council has received a $300,000 grant from the Victorian Government through the Open Space for Everyone - New and Upgraded Dog Parks Program.

Works

Following recent community consultation on a concept design, plans have been revised to include:

  • shelters
  • additional seating
  • a relocated passive dog area
  • additional bins
  • improved pathways
  • inclusion of solar lighting at entry points and shelters and
  • landscaping.

Funding details

The upgrades will be funded with $300,000 through the Victorian Government’s Open Space for Everyone - New and Upgraded Dog Parks Program.

Project updates

October 2025

Construction to commence in early 2026. Due to the nature of the works to be completed, the Diamond Creek Dog Park will be closed during the construction period.
