Hear from our keynote speaker, 2015 Australian of the Year Rosie Batty AO, alongside a panel of local women discussing this year’s theme: Balance the Scales — exploring advocacy and progress toward gender equality.
The event will feature:

This event will feature an engaging panel of community members discussing their insights into the 2026 International Women's Day theme 'Balance the Scales', as well as exploring the work they are doing locally to progress gender equality in Nillumbik.
Aashini Rastogi - 2025 Winner Nillumbik Young Citizen of the Year
Aashini is a driven young leader who excels in every area she touches. As a Cadet Under Officer in the Australian Air Force Cadets, she leads with dedication, mentorship and kindness. Her commitment extends to the Diamond Valley Badminton Association, where she is a competitive player and an encouraging teammate. As a past ambassador for the Banyule Nillumbik Tech School and a valued member of All World Gayatri Pariwar Victoria, she advocates for innovation, equality, culture and community, striving to make a lasting impact on the Nillumbik community.
Jayne Clark - 2025 Winner of Contribution to Environment and Sustainability in Nillumbik award
Jayne, founder of Imagine Re-Evolution, combines expertise in accounting, disability studies, and mental health with more than a decade of experience in the not-for-profit sector. Launched in 2022, the organisation empowers youth, fosters community, and addresses poverty by connecting generations around sustainability and social justice. Jayne’s leadership drives its mission to create lasting change, starting in Melbourne’s North East and aspiring to make a global impact.
Lacey Martin - 2025 Winner of Nillumbik Community Group of the Year award (Nillumbik SES)
Lacey is committed to serving the Nillumbik community through her volunteer role at the Nillumbik State Emergency Service. She currently holds the role of Section Leader Readiness and Recovery within the unit. She actively serves the Nillumbik community through emergency response, training, and community safety activities. Lacey has been deployed through the SES on a state level to many major emergency events including going to Gippsland and Queensland, to contributing to large-scale disaster response efforts.
