Sporting, Arts and Cultural Achievement Grants

The purpose of the Sports, Arts and Creative Achievement Grant is to provide financial support to young people aged 25 or under, who are residents of Nillumbik Shire and/or affiliated with a team, club or organisation in Nillumbik. 

This grant is designed to help cover costs associated with participating in state, national or international competition or tournament.

By offering this support, the grant aims to alleviate financial burdens and encourage youth participation at a higher level and to strive for excellence. 

What can be funded?

  • Costs associated with sports events and tournaments.
  • Travel costs including accommodation. 

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for a Sporting, Arts and Cultural Achievement Grant, applicants must: 

  • be a resident of Nillumbik Shire and/or affiliated with a team, club or organisation in Nillumbik
  • be under 25
  • be selected to compete in a state, national or international competition or tournament, within a recognised peak body, institution or association
  • not be competing on a professional basis 
  • have not received a Sports, Arts and Creative Achievement Grant in the last 12 months
  • provide evidence of selection, invitation or acceptance to competition or tournament
  • be available to attend a Council meeting for presentation of the grant. 

Note: there is a maximum of five applicants from each club.

Assessment of whether the criteria have been met is subject to the Manager's discretion.
