Advocacy priorities
Greater support for mental health services, and disaster preparedness and recovery are some of the key issues on which Nillumbik Shire Council’s advocacy efforts are focused in the lead up to the state election on 26 November 2022.
Council has written to all sitting Members of Parliament and candidates asking them to support projects detailed in our Advocacy Priorities: 2022 document, in addition to increasing funding for mental health services across the Shire.
Endorsed by Council in December 2021, the document provides the framework for Council’s advocacy, on behalf of its community, to all levels of government in the lead up to elections and throughout the term of government.
Each priority item has been linked to one of the four overarching themes that guide the broader Council Plan 2021-2025.
Nillumbik Shire Council continues to work tirelessly to advocate for the best possible outcomes for our community.
