Nillumbik Shire Council is inviting community feedback on its draft Road Management Plan (RMP), which outlines how Council manages, inspects, maintains and repairs local roads and footpaths.
The Plan ensures that our local road network is maintained to a safe and sustainable standard, and that Council meets its responsibilities under the Road Management Act 2004.
Community input will help shape a Plan that truly reflects the needs of our community - residents, businesses, and road users alike.
Mayor John Dumaresq said “Our roads and footpaths are part of everyday life—whether you’re walking the dog, cycling to work, or driving to the shops. This Plan details how we prioritise maintenance and respond to issues across our network. We want to hear from you to ensure it meets the expectations and safety needs of everyone in Nillumbik.”
The draft Road Management Plan focuses exclusively on local roads and footpaths managed by Nillumbik Shire Council. It does not include major roads or infrastructure projects overseen by Department of Transport and Planning (DTP), which operates under separate management plans and processes.
Your feedback is essential to help us maintain and improve the safety and connectivity of Nillumbik’s roads and footpaths for everyone.
