Join us at the Community Bushfire Expo – a free, family-friendly event designed to help community prepare for the bushfire season.

Hosted by Nillumbik Shire Council, the Expo will bring together emergency services, community groups and local businesses to share valuable advice and practical tools to keep our community safe.

What's on

With expert presentations and interactive displays, the event will give residents and visitors the chance to:

  • access critical information on bushfire preparedness and response
  • connect directly with emergency services and local organisations
  • discover tools, resources and strategies to protect lives and properties
  • learn how to build resilience and reduce bushfire risks.

For the kids, there will be fire trucks to explore, face painting and other activities.

Plus there will be a variety of food stalls offering something for everyone.

Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash at all times.

Getting there

There is some parking available at the Hurstbridge Community Hub including an accessible car space. Or you can park at Ben Frilay Oval, just a short walk away. Traffic management will be in place to ensure everyone can enter and exit safely.

You can also avoid the traffic and catch public transport - the Hurstbridge Hub is close to the Hurstbridge train station and a bus stop.

About the event

Originally launched in 2023 as a community-led initiative focused within the Panton Hill and St Andrews areas, the Bushfire Expo is now an annual Nillumbik Shire Council-led event, open to the whole shire.
