Hurstbridge International Women's Day 2026

This is an intergenerational community event. A local female facilitator will be hired to host the evening to ensure that all attendees feel welcomed, and socially connected with other women attending the event.

Local businesses will be supported by the funds including purchasing locally-made IWD event cookies. All attendees will receive one of these welcoming locally made IWD cookies and also, information about the programs available at Allwood House to promote further social connection through participation in community run activities. Many of the community run events at Allwood strive to support over 55s including tech workshops, social groups and art classes.

A number of local businesses have kindly donated door prizes that will be given away during the event, as a way to entertain and create a buzz making people feel more at ease and comfortable socialising. Allwood House directs the 10 per cent auspice fee into providing additional low or no cost activities and programs for the community. This year, a youth ticket will be created to encourage the younger generation to also attend and interact with the more mature participants, encouraging intergenerational networking.
