Our popular Tools of the Trade for Women course is back in April at the St Andrews Men's Shed.
This free 10-session course is for women and gender diverse people over 55 years who would like to learn how to complete basic maintenance and DIY tasks in the home, delivered in a safe and welcoming environment, while connecting socially and making friends.
Participants will be introduced to a range of tools and techniques, their purpose and how to use them safely to complete home maintenance tasks including:
- plastering a hole in the wall
- replacing tap washers
- using an electric drill
- hanging a picture
- preparing surfaces, filling and caulking
- basic carpentry
- and more.
It is designed to increase women’s confidence and independence to complete home maintenance tasks or projects themselves.
Delivered by volunteers at the Men's Shed.
