This event offers a wonderful opportunity to observe and learn about local bird species in their natural habitat.

Come ID birds with our experienced Biodiversity Officer during the Aussie Backyard Bird Count week, the largest citizen science program in Australia. Help collect valuable data for ecologists to help protect our birds and learn how to ID them in your own backyard!

It is for all experience levels from curious beginners to serious twitchers. We will survey for birds, discuss calls heard, discuss the various citizen science and bird identification guides for bird observations, discuss habitats and how the birds use them.

Don't forget to bring your binoculars and/or camera (if you have some), a notebook, comfortable walking shoes, rain jacket/warm clothes and water. This is a walk, moving along the reserve trail and some open areas following bird calls and sightings as we go, so we will be on our feet for the hour and a half.
