Request a change to a bin service

Use this page to request changes to your bin service, including bin sizes, additional bins or reducing your service.

⚠️ In most cases, only property owners can request changes.

Standard bin service

The standard bin service includes:

  • One 120L green bin - for food scraps and garden waste, collected weekly
  • One 240L yellow recycling bin - for recycling, collected fortnightly
  • One 120L red landfill bin - for rubbish that's not food scraps or recycling, collected fortnightly

In 2026/27, the annual waste management charge is $708.86 - this covers the standard bin service, and is payable with your rates.

If you want to make changes to the standard service (change the number and/or size of the bins) this may increase or decrease your annual waste management charge.

Before you request a change

If you are requesting a change that affects your annual waste charge, you must be the owner of the property.

If you are a renter and you want to make a change that affects the annual waste charge, please contact your rental agent.

Change your green bin

The standard service includes one 120L bin for food scraps and garden waste, collected weekly.

Change your yellow recycling bin

The standard service includes one 240L bin, collected fortnightly.

Change your red landfill bin

The standard service includes one 120L bin, collected fortnightly.

Are you using your bin effectively? Avoid additional costs by putting food scraps in your green bin, and read about other options to reduce your waste.

Return a bin

If you no longer need an extra bin, visit return an additional bin.

How to request a change

  1. Have your details ready - you will need to provide your contact details and property information.
     
  2. Contact us:

  3. If an upfront payment is required, we will send you an invoice via email, which you can pay online.
     
  4. We will provide instructions for swapping or delivering your bin(s).
