  • Project typePlayground renewal
  • Project scheduleCommencing early 2026

Nillumbik is home to over 60 outdoor public playspaces, and Council is committed to enhancing the lives of children and their families by improving these spaces.

We understand the importance of quality outdoor playspaces, which provide opportunities for children to engage with the natural environment through cognitive, creative, physical and social types of play.

Several sites have been identified as priorities for 2025-26 renewal works based on age, condition audits and levels of use by the community. This includes Parry Reserve in Eltham North, Diamond Hills Reserve in Greensborough, Jacaranda Drive Reserve in Diamond Creek, Pitt Street Reserve in Eltham, Eltham Lower Park in Eltham, and Oldstead Road Reserve in Greensborough, Cooks Crescent in North Warrandyte and Eastgate Drive Reserve in Greensborough.

Works planned for Cooks Crescent Reserve

The upgraded playspace will feature a new combination play unit which will include a challenge ladder, ring trek, jumping jack, a slide and an interactive play panel. The existing swing set will be replaced with a new two-bay swing set and basket swing. The playground will also feature an inclusive bird springer and a balance beam.

This playground is designed for children aged 2 to 10, with works scheduled for completion by mid-2026.
