There are a number of other environmental groups that operate with Nillumbik. A list of these is outlined below.

Local Food Connect

Local Food Connect (LFC) is a not-for-profit, volunteer community group which is working towards the re-localising of our food production and supply systems.

Based in the north eastern region of Melbourne, they are encouraging, supporting and promoting events, actions and enterprises which help to put your food back into your control. Contact info@localfoodconnect.org.au or 0416 203 067.

Nillumbik Environment Action Group

This group holds events and hosts projects that help residents address climate change and other environmental issues. They also advocate to government to to take more action to repair damage to the environment. Contact neag456@gmail.com.

Warrandyte CAN (Climate Action Now)

Warrandyte CAN communicates to the community the urgent need to take action on climate change, raise awareness and empower people to act to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Contact Wayne Rankin on 9844 1959.

Yarra Riverkeeper Association

The Yarra Riverkeeper Association is a not-for-profit community organisation formed in 2004 by a group of citizens who love the Yarra River and care for its future. Their aim is to protect and restore the Yarra River and its tributaries, from source to mouth, for current and future generations.

Victorian Frog Group

The Victorian Frog Group aims to provide for the needs of all those interested in Australian native frogs. They aim to facilitate education and conservation through encouraging a close contact with nature. They have a diverse membership with people ranging from those with a general interest in frogs, gardeners, naturalists, teachers, pet owners, zookeepers, zoologists, research scientists, and university academics.

The group offers a unique opportunity for you to meet people with similar interests, get to know more about frogs and get involved in the many exciting activities that are coordinated by the group.
