Following a successful consultation program, more than 160 people provided feedback for the draft Council Plan 2017-2021.

All residents were sent a flyer with details about the draft plan and there were four consultation sessions held with information and an online form on Council's website.

Nillumbik Shire Mayor Councillor Peter Clarke said it was great to receive feedback about the Plan and it shows how engaged residents in Nillumbik are.

"A number of people came to see us at our consultation session and emailed us their comments and queries.

"We were pleased to receive so much feedback about the draft Plan as it shows that people really care about the future of this Shire and their involvement in it. Twenty people even took time out of their busy schedules to attend the meeting.

"On the whole, many residents were pleased with the Plan however what was clear is that we need to include more detail about managing, protecting and enhancing the Green Wedge.

"We will now be looking closely at this feedback and will incorporate it into our final document which will be available on Council's website and at Council facilities.

"We're keen to ensure that this Plan reflects the needs and aspirations of our residents and that's why it's so important to listen to feedback."

The Council Plan will be presented at the Ordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday June 27.
