Eltham Playhouse Occasional Care Centre
Council manages Playhouse Occasional Care Centres in Eltham and Panton Hill.
The registered services comply with the Children’s Services Act 1996 and the Children’s Services Regulations 2010. The Child Care Subsidy is available based on eligibility.
The Playhouses provide occasional care for children aged three months to six years.
Our facilities
Set amongst a natural environment, Eltham Playhouse provides a warm and nurturing setting where children are supported to learn, grow and develop in a group environment.
Our qualified and experienced educators work closely with families to create a strong sense of community and belonging.
Through a play-based program, children are encouraged to build relationships, explore their interests, develop new skills and learn alongside their peers in a safe and engaging environment.
Types of care and activities
Eltham Playhouse provides a nurturing, play-based environment where children are supported to learn, explore and develop at their own pace. Our program is guided by the interests and individual needs of each child, encouraging curiosity, creativity and social connection.
Children have regular opportunities to engage with the local community and natural environment through supervised excursions to nearby parks and recreation spaces. A variety of indoor and outdoor experiences are offered each day to support children's learning, wellbeing and development.
Eltham Playhouse follows a SunSmart approach during Terms 1 and 4, helping children develop safe sun protection habits. Families are asked to provide a nutritious morning snack and lunch each day. Rest and sleep facilities, including cots, are available for children who require them during their time in care.

Applicable from 1 July 2026:
Childcare for booked users:
- 5hr booked session $88.00
- 6hr booked session $105.60
Childcare for casual users:
- 5hr casual session $95.50
- 6hr casual session $112.50
